I am a hair specialist, and I help customers find products that work for them. When finished, I ring up the items and send them on their way. I restock inventory as well as shop for it. In the slide show, there is a picture of a long walk way with boxes on each side, that is a warehouse where we get out chemicals such as gel, and conditioners. This as a whole was a learning experience. When you own a business you have to pour your all into it. It requires more thinking and patience than it would to work for someone else. Paying close attention to every detail that goes into the store is essential. I've learned so much about myself and the customers. I always froze up when things got to intense or too hard for me, but since my internship at Beauty Influence I've learned how to deal with upset customers, and curious customers. I realize that I don't know everything, but I cannot just give up. |
Journal Entry:
Dec. 18. 21, Today was our GRAND OPENING! Our store was very busy. Lots of items were purchased, from wigs to hair gel. I didn't sleep much last night because we were preparing for today, so I crashed pretty early. Other than that, today was one for the books. I'm very proud of my mother. We remodeled the entire store. Really our journey began in March 2020. We ripped up carpets, knocked walls down, and change the toilet. Slat walls and a stage was installed soon after. It's only up from her. Feb. 19. 22, It has been 2 months, and every day we get busier. I never payed much attention to how much it takes and how much you have to put on the line when you OWN a business. Today, although, was pretty relaxed. I swept, and sanitized things while waiting for customers. One really sweet lady came in, looking for a wig. Instantly our vibes kind of matched one another. We got her to try on wigs, and eventually found the perfect one. I rung her up and walked her out. I would say today was a success. |
